The True
The Swiftfire is attacked for no reason by an unknown enemy deep in the Badlands. The Swiftfire escapes to a nearby hidden Maquis' base and prepares for a battle with the ships identified as Vendoth ships. Captain Masters gets captured by the Vendoth and all looks lost but unknown to the crew of the Swiftfire there are two other Beings that are on their side. (Takes place simultaneously with A Dreaful Operation)

The Front
The USS Swiftfire-A is now at the front with the Fifth fleet but when a Dominion attack force damages the fleet's important repair yard, the Fifth is left with no way to do major repairs to their vessels and non-stop attacks by Dominion forces put the fleet in a deadly situation.

The Federation is now at war with the Dominion and the USS Swiftfire-A is rushed to the front. But the newly brought together crew are edgy and rivalries erupt and it is up to Captain Masters to bring the crew together before they can face the challenges ahead.

The USS Swiftfire is part of the task force to reinforce Deep Space 9 following the Klingon invasion of Cardassia and their attack on DS9. Commander Jonathan Masters soon finds himself battling Klingons but his greatest threat will come from within Starfleet.
