Being the descendant of a Starfleet legend never sat well with Alex. His family expected him to join Starfleet and someday, command an Enterprise, just as Rachel Garrett had done. Unfortunately, Alex never wanted a life in the military but joined just to please his parents.
During the Battle of Wolf 359, Alex (also Mia and Tash, who were criminals aboard) were a part of the survivors from the U.S.S. Hemingway. With the emergence of what would be called The Assimilation Wars, Alex became the reluctant captain of the human resistance. Now as captain of TEAM HELIX, he still feels less than adequate in the command chair.
At one time, Alex was captured and assimilated by the Borg in his own timeline. He became the 'War Hub' drone known as AXIS. For two months, he fought his former friends and was responsible for the deaths of 15,045 people. The original TEAM HELIX rescued him.
Although the most of the Borg implants were removed, it is known there is still a part of AXIS within him. It is only a matter of time before it surfaces and continues its AXIS EXPERIMENT (see "Axis Power" [HLX]).
On various occasions, the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations has taken an interest in him. He has been referred to as "The Anomaly". |
